Indespension Tow Bar and Trailer News

July 2011
The Sky's the Limit

In conjunction with Speedy Hire & SkyJack, Indespension has developed a new trailer with the specific aim of transportation of scissor lift machines.
With ultra low ground clearance a scissor lift, such as the SJIII3215 model from SkyJack (http://www.skyjack.com/product/sjiii-3219-0), transporting scissor lifts has been problematic with anything other than a bespoke machine. This meant that the cost of transport was expensive over the life of the trailer if the trailer was not getting frequent use.
Indespensions solution was to refit its already popular and successful PL27084 plant trailer to enable it to carry a scissor lift. An extended mesh ramp tail (complete with guard rail) was added to resolve the ground clearance problem as was an adjustable front bar stop for correct positioning of the SkyJack machines. The new ramp tail has a loading angle of just 12.8 degrees but is strong enough to be used by mini excavators day in day out. The adjustable front stop bar can be removed and stowed to the front panel when not in use meaning the full bed can be used for other uses.

Weed Wackingly Great

Required by the Environment Agency to carry an amphibious vehicle to clear river banks of weeds, Indespension has designed and built a new 'Weed Wacker' trailer.
The trailer needed to be built t o a maximum gross weight of 4000kg and be strong enough to carry a dry weight of 3000kg. This meant the trailer couldn't weigh anymore than 900kg. With carefully selected axles, wheels and tyres Indespension managed to achieve an un-laden weight of 890kg.
A lot of hard work by Indespensions design team went into making this trailer, which has been both challenging and exciting for the company.

A Tail Lift Triumph

Indespension were recently approached by one of their customers to design and build a very small but heavy trailer to test the lifting capacity of a selection of different tail lifts ranging from 1000-2000kg.
The trailer needed to be designed small enough to fit on a tail lift and include a support leg on each corner to hold it steady on the tail lift.
Indespension designed the trailer using a bare trailer that weighed 1000kg and a mixture of hand weights and heavier semi-permanent weights which are removable by a small crane.
A motor mover which allows for single person operation was also fitted, along with a heavy duty caravan motor including a cordless remote control and a leisure battery with a charging sysetm through the towing vehicle
Indespensions customer hailed the trailer a great success and since the company have already received more orders for this trailer.

Indespension help UK Police Forces

In February 2011 UK Police forces conducted one of the largest public operations ever mounted.
To assist in maintaining public safety and order, 15 CBRN Scene Management Barrier Systems were deployed along with 3 CBRN Public Communications Trailers (designed and manufactured by Indespension).
The use of the barrier systems and trailers reduced the number of police officers required to form cordons, allowing them to be deployed elsewhere.
The police said the operation was very successful with no major public disorder at all. The barriers and communication systems were very well received with three reporters (one from the BBC) stopping to ask about the trailers.
Indespension were happy to assist the police with the manufacturer and design of these trailers and look forward to working together again in the future.

Transport your Troubles Away

Indespensions new range of car transporters trailers have been designed with the very latest in technological assistance.
Constructed around 7 key components and bolted together, these trailers actually reduce the cost of ownership as each key element can be replaced should an accident occur. The laser cut and folded channels are from a single piece of steel making them extremely rigid and durable whilst also aiding to reducing the overall weight of the trailer. The reduced weight of the trailer makes it accessible to be used by more towing vehicles than other car transporter trailers. The rear captivated loading ramps are positioned on rollers which eliminates any grueling lifting.
All this makes for a range of car transporters trailers that are lightweight, strong and innovative, everything you would expect from an Indespension trailer

Rolling Along

Working with a number of leading companies who used pedestrian rollers Indespension were given a brief to improve on the current market place design.
The most common criticisms were bouncing of the roller on the trailer during transit and the frequency and expense that companies experienced in replacing bearings due to wear and tear. Our solutions: a chain tensioning system to clamp to the trailer (rather than traditional ratchet straps - which also fray) and we put the same bearings we use for our heavy duty 3500kgs plant trailers onto the roller trailer.
Further improvements included reducing the loading ramp angle by 20% on other designs for safer controlled loading of the machine; an extending and removable lighting system (to avoid costly breakages; a captivated lock down clamp that cannot be removed preventing it from being 'mislaid'
With many improved features and benefits the new Roller Trailer from Indespension is the one to roll with.

Lock & Load

When it comes to health and safety Indespension is proving to be right on track and ahead of the pack!
The new "TrackLock" system is a brand new concept for securing mini-excavators during transport. Rather than the traditional method of using ratchet straps, which can become worn or frayed, the TrackLock utilises 4 independent robust metal clamps that fix down onto the excavators tracks. The clamps, located within a channel, have lateral adjustment capability to ensure the correct positioning on the excavator tracks is attained. The channel also acts as a guidance plate to aid with the centralised loading of the digger. A front stop bar also enables the digger to achieve position directly over the axle thus ensuring greater load stability. Further still is a chain tensioning technique that prevents the boom swinging whilst on the move.
The benefits of the TrackLock system are many. In addition to the health and safety properties, it also reduces the chance of operator error as it is easier to use than ratchet straps, its also faster to use.

A New Generation of Trailers

Built fresh from the ground up the Low Loader range are packed full of new features whilst maintaining superior Indespension quality. A brand new chassis design has been developed to enable us to reduce the bed height whilst utilising a 13' wheel and tyre. That means the new Low Loader range can achieve a loading angle of 15 degrees. The lowest loading angle on the market! In addition the low bed height enhances load stability while the new chassis design means for lighter unladen weights thus increasing the fuel efficiency of the towing vehicle. The bolt-on chassis construction means that replacing damaged components is possible, whilst also supporting the floor, making the transportation of drum rollers possible. A new coupling has enabled a higher road clearance for the jockey wheel when retracted.

The Newest Innovation for Boating Enthusiasts!

Available from Indespension Ltd, the Launch N Load is a high-quality trailer guidance system that was designed to make launching and loading your boat or watercraft quick and easy. Bolting directly onto all Indespension trailers it addresses several difficulties usually associated with launching and loading:
*Provides the driver with a quick and reliable visual guide that can easily be seen when backing a trailer for loading. The Launch N Load, in its upright position, is clearly visible from the rear view mirror.
*Signals the driver of the trailer that the boat or watercraft has launched, and that it is safe to exit the boat ramp. Once the boat or watercraft has cleared the trailer, the spring-loaded Launch N Load pops up, giving the driver a strong visual signal that the trailer is now empty.
*Assists the driver of the boat in locating the centre-line of the trailer when loading. The upright Launch N Load acts as a target to the oncoming boat or watercraft, allowing the driver to align the nose of the marine vehicle with the centre of the trailer.

For many though investment can mean an outlay of capital that exceeds their current cash flow. The answer? Indespension Contract Plan (ICP)!
With fixed term monthly payments ICP allows you to obtain that investment by spreading the cost! With trailers costing as little as £48 p.m. including servicing and maintenance the question is can you afford not to buy a trailer? Click here for details.

Jake fed up with pirating, told Tony he was considering trading in the 36 gun galley for a much more modest trailer sailor. Whilst Jake was obviously delighted to catch up with his old Merlin Rocket teacher, Tony was somewhat downhearted to learn that Jake had left all his doubloons on the ship and was unable to spring for a pint at the Guinness stand - as usual!
